BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Cathedral, Hereford

This vertical South lead dial is at present in store. A fragment of a motto, ".... Ombra ...." and some traces of Roman numerals are all that can be seen. The gnomon has an unusual stirrup supporter. The cathedral Fabrick Account for 1730-1 and 1750-1 record the cost of painting the dial.
