BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This excellent large stone dial stands in Old Court. It was created in 1920, replacing an earlier model. It declines four degrees to the east and, unusually, it shows the time until late afternoon both in GMT and in British Summer Time. The classically carved motto, ’MUNDUS TRANSIT ET CONCUPISCENTIA EJUS’, translates as: ’The world and its desires pass away’.
