BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Tayside Region

The dial is set recessed in a square stone table covered in lichen, on a stone plinth about 1000 high. It is inscribed at the south: ’Mr. DAVID LINDSAY / Dr of Gramr School / of Brechin / 1749’. It has Roman numerals read from the inside and divided to 30 and 15 minutes, and an open-work gnomon. Ref: A R Somerville, personal file
