BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Drumlanrig Castle (2), Thornhill

Double horizontal and Moon dial. Concentric rings show mins, hours and Noon for 50 places around the world. 15 rings staggered at 48min intervals for the Moon dial. 32 point Compass, Within the rings is an EoT table, a grid of curved lines served by the vertical gnomon edge showing astronomical information and a perpetual calendar. Also date & inscriptions (not recorded). Vertical edge of gnomon drops from 1/3rd way from the plate. All mounted on a cylindrical column with two cherubs clinging to it.
