BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Market Cross, Wigtown

Previously in S of main street now (2003) 100yds further North in a reconstructed garden area and with its ’pineapple’ finial restored. A four face direct dial. S face shows 6am to 6pm in hours and half hours with both using full length lines. Uses a cross patty and IV. E face shows 3am to 11am in hours. W face shows 3pm to 9pm in hours. N face shows 3am to 5am and 6pm to 10pm. E & W faces use alternate hour numbering and may also show some half hours. Set on cylindrical column 12ft tall.
