BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lothian Region

The dial is set on a square column about 1000 high, set on a concrete base. It s a cube with the corners cut out to give circular faces with dials, and a horizontal dial on top. The faces are almost blank; the gnomons are broken or missing. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland", p60 (E5).
