BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Black Lion Pub, Sedgefield

The dial is on the south wall of the pub in the village centre. Numerals crudely incised. Appears to be a homemade dial. All quarter hour lines in black from semicircle. Shows 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours. Believed (in 2003) to have been painted over (see the "Bay Horse", Hurworth dial) but now restored
