BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Manor House (Newcastle Breweries), Ferryhill

The motto across the top reads: ’Lux Umbra Dei’. The dial shows 11am to 9pm in half hours, with upright Roman numerals using IIII. This building is believed to have been the vicarage mentioned by Gatty. Ref: Gatty (1900) p388.
