BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St. Julitta, Lanteglos-by-Camelford

This is another dial blighted by the thoughtless installation of a modern electric lamp. The date in the arch at the top is slightly ambiguous and puzzled Mrs Crowley when she drew it in 1957 but it is more probably 1719 than 1712. The designer was nothing if not optimistic in that he has provided upward sloping hour lines for the morning V and the evening VII. Strange things happen in Cornwall and maybe the sun does shine upwards there sometimes. Nowadays, the dial is shaded by trees in the afternoon.
