BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Aidan’s Church, Bamburgh

The dial is over the door at the west end of the south aisle. The motto along the base reads: "Pereunt et Imputantur" in gothic style font. In the scrolled top edge are the date ’1828’ and the latitude 55 38 44. In the outer scale, with 5-minute dividers, two dots mark the hours, one dot the half and quarter hours. An inner scale has half, quarter and eighth hour divisions. Sturdy but rusty iron gnomon with copper capping strip on style top. Ornate scrolling between style and support. Dial plate cracked, with recent cement repair. Mounted over doorway at W end of S aisle.
