BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Church of St Mary the Virgin, Morpeth

Unusually, there is no dial plate but the hour lines and times are very neatly cut into the building stones high up on the fourteenth century nave wall. The gnomon is an elegantly formed rod. The dial faces a little east of south and bears the initials TW but there is no motto. The numbers and lettering appear to be of the eighteenth century. A rare dial type.
