BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Keelmen’s hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne

This dial is on a listed building of historical importance. The hospital was founded in 1701 by the keelmen of the Tyne who contributed a penny a tide from their wages. The dial has been handsomely restored and as well as a timekeeper was clearly used to regulate the large clock above which was visible from the river. A fine dial, worth a visit.
