BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Motto reads: "Hours Fly". Memorial dial for Mr & Mrs F W Allden. Shows 4am to 8pm in hours, 30, 15 and 7.5 min marks. Uses XII and IIII. Split Noon line. Hour lines pass from eight point sun face edge through numerals. Three hole fixing. Thick gnomon with ’S’ supporter. Mounted on hexagonal section tapered pedestal, capital and plinth with panelled sides made from stone from the (old) Houses of Parliament. Located in churchyard.
