St Beuno’s Parish Church, Clynnog Fawr

The only known Celtic Cymric sundial incised on a 7thC - 9thC monolith, possibly predating Bewcastle. Used as a gatepost until 18th/19thC. It has six lines, and shows seasonal canonical hours for 6am-6pm, 9am, Noon, 3pm. The style hole might have been enlarged during its gatepost period. Ref: Clocks Magazine, 15,7, Dec 1992, p52.
