BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Roundacre Roundabout, Basildon

This large equatorial sundial is located below road level on a bricked area in the centre of the roundabout a few hundred yards from the shopping area (access is via a pedestrian underpass). It shows 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours, with a rod arrow headed gnomon. Black rods mark the hours and half hours. A description is given in a plaque below the dial.
