BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Marina’s Church, St Merryn

When Mrs Crowley drew this dial in 1963 it had lost its gnomon and was badly cracked. It had been mounted on a backing plate but no attempt had been made to mend the cracks. It is a pleasant surprise to find that the damage has now been well repaired and a new gnomon has been fitted. It dates from 1800 and carries the commonest of all sundial mottoes.
