BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Levens Hall (2), Kendal

Levens Hall is 5 miles south of Kendal on the A6. The dial has hour numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the inside, in half, quarter, eighth hours and single minutes. Minute marks are grouped into tens and marked with Arabic numerals. There is no central feature on the dialplate. Four dome headed screw fixing. Lightly engraved. Fretted gnomon with scrollwork. Mounted on a circular section sandstone pedestal 1220 high with square capital and unstepped plinth, the capital having its corners cut off. The dial was moved from under a cedar tree to its present site in 1991.
