BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The dial is in the front garden. Hemispherical dial with hour lines inscribed. Was mounted on elaborate pedestal octagonal in section. Shows 6am to 6pm in hours. Arabic Numerals. Dial broken following a fall in 1989. Most fragments to hand in 1990. Certainly inoperative. Probably lost!
