BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Clare

Vertical painted sundial, with black furniture on a white background, set into flintwork over the entrance into the south porch. Upright Roman numerals show the hours from 6am to 6pm, using IIII for 4pm, in 30 and 15 minutes. The thin rod gnomon has an S-shaped supporter. The date of 1790 is shown in a cartouche at the gnomon root. At the top of the dial the motto reads: ’Go about your Bufinefs’.
