BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The location of this dial has also been described as "Hasells Courtyard" (a group of sheltered housing). It is 1/4 mile west of the church.
Vertical sundial painted on wood. The dial is mounted within a plastered surround, between the upper windows of the building. The dial shows the hours from 6am to 6pm using Arabic numerals on a white chapter ring in the form of a banner scroll, on a light blue (daylight hours?) background. Golden hour lines originate from a gold sun around the gnomon root. The hour numerals also in gold are highlighted with a "shadow" to give the illusion of standing-out from the chapter ring. At the upper part of the dial there is a single star on a dark blue (night-time hours?) background. The metal rod gnomon has a single support strut.
