BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Boxford

Vertical slate sundial on South face of church tower. The hours from 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours are indicated. The iron rod gnomon is supported by the left hand side of a stirrup shaped supporter. Hour lines emanate from a central rectangle. The whole is set against the flint wall, with a slate frame to the top and sides and supported by two corbels at the base of the dial. Along the lower edge the maker’s name is inscribed, Elliot Bros. London.
