Penshurst Place (3), Tonbridge

This multi facet dial, originally in the Lanning Roper garden, includes east and west faces with declination lines, horizontal, equatorial (both faces) and four scaphe dials. It shows 4am to 8pm in hours. The dial is mounted on a cylindrical stone column 950 high. Some Penshust dials have been taken indoors following the theft of Penshurst dial SRN 0578 in 2004. A replacement for this dial was made in approx 2005, refer to Penshurst dial SRN 7357. There is a similar dial close by.
