BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Sissinghurst Castle [NT], Sissinghurst

This vertical sundial is mounted over the gateway on the south facing wall of rose garden. Mediaeval figures are shown in a colonnaded arcade around top. There is a centre shield with 2 lion supporters and a helmet crest. The hour lines end in arrow heads at a circular scale. A thistle and a tulip are in the lower corners. Hours are shown from 6am to 6pm in hours with Arabic numerals. Ref: BSS Bulletin No 96.1 Feb 1996, p7. Similar to SRN 0275 and many others.
