BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Berkshire

The dial is mounted on a York stone pillar 2ft 9ins high, and was acquired from a garden at Stanwell, Middlesex when land was being redeveloped. It has the date 1733, and an 8-point compass rose. It shows 4am to 8pm in half, quarter and 5min marks. Noon is centred on one flat. The gnomon angle is said to be 45 degs. The motto reads: "Momento mori".
