BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Pancras’ Church, Widecombe

The combination of shallow engraving and the growth of lichens has made it difficult to read this small slate dial in the peak of the church porch. There is a break-arch top to the dial slab and an oval time scale with the gnomon root in the centre of a double circle encompassing the arch. The dial shows VI - VI in hours. Numerals aligned with hour lines. Uses XII and, according to Mrs Crowley, IIII. If there ever was an inscription or motto in the arch it is not visible now.
