BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Eustace’s Parish Church, Tavistock

The sandstone dial on the porch is in poor condition but still displays some interesting features. It has a motto, "Hora pars Vitae" (An Hour is part of Life), the date 1811 and the maker’s name, Merrifield, who also made the dial at Launceston in Cornwall. It declines 20° East and originally showed the hours V - IIII divided into halves and quarters. The IX numeral is awkwardly engraved and has been interpreted as XI. The dial measures 610mm square.
