BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Tapeley Park, Instow

On the terrace of the Italian garden and mounted on a high, circular section spirally fluted baluster pedestal is a brass horizontal dial showing the hours IIII-VIII divided into halves and periods of 10 and 2 minutes. It was made by J. Bird of London who worked there from 1745, dying in 1776. It has a 16-point compass rose and is engraved with the latitude 51° 11’.
