BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Church of St Michael, Stokenham

This hexagonal slate dial is mounted so low on the South transept that you could easily hang your hat on the hooked end of its gnomon. It declines 13° West and shows 7am to 7pm, divided into half hours, in Arabic numerals arranged parallel to the sides of the hexagon. Noon is marked by a cross. The date 1811 appears at the top. Each side of the hexagon is 300mm long.
