BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

All Hallows Church, Ringmore

This dial can be seen above the tower door. It has suffered some damage at the top right corner so that only half the IIII is visible and V and VI have disappeared altogether. In the arch at the top there is a large blank space which would accommodate a date or a motto but it doesn’t appear that anything was ever there. The dial originally showed VI - VI divided into halves and quarters, not only round the chapter ring but also round the semicircle surrounding the gnomon root. There is a noon gap to compensate for the thickness of the rather strange gnomon which has a curved section at the upper part of the style. It measures 450mmw x 610mmh.
