BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Mary Tavy

Mrs Crowley described this slate dial as ’primitive’ and we can hardly disagree. Across the top we find the crude inscription "17ATR02". No maker is known with the initials ATR so they may be those of the churchwarden. It shows VI - VI in undivided hours but the remains of numerals are very difficult to see. The initials DV appear inside the circle surrounding the gnomon root. The gnomon has rusted away to a short stub. The dial measures 450mm square.
