BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
This is the younger and lower of two dials mounted on the rood stair turret. It is a typical Pearson Page product, very decorative with perhaps less emphasis on timekeeping. Six figures in arched recesses populate the upper area with a rectangle of floral decoration above the gnomon root. The ornate gnomon springs from a shield supported by two lions while tulips fill the lower corners. It shows 6am to 6pm undivided with both the 6s being below the horizontal. It is made of bronze and is backed by a wooden board. It measures 220mmw x 300mmh.
