BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Oxfordshire

Well engraved horizontal war memorial dial in the churchyard, near the Lych Gate. In the centre of the dial is an eight point compass rose. Around this in a ring is the motto "HOURS PASS DEEDS REMAIN". In successive rings are hour lines, quarters, Roman hour numerals and 5 minute marks. The Roman numerals, from 4am to 8pm, are aligned with the hour lines and read from outside the dial. On the south side is the inscription "In gratitude to those who served their country 1914 - 1918". The sturdy undecorated gnomon has unusual brackets which form part of the compass rose. The dial is recessed into the top of an octagonal baluster pedestal. It was excellently maintained in 1984 and 1999.
