BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hereford & Worcester

Perhaps the most remartkable feature of this brass horizontal dial is that it is mounted on the tip of a former church spire. At the south, read from the north, is ’Langarron Pa??’, and below that at the foot of the gnomon us a punched name, possibly ’J COUNSELL’ or ’J e CUNSBL?’. The gnomon is bent. It has numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the outside, but VIII pm hardly recognisable, and hour lines omitted for 4 and 5am and 7 and 8pm
