BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Green, Dorstone

On a six foot tall pillar at the NE corner of the green is a rare disc type equatorial dial with centre iron pin gnomons. Initials & date (underside) are IM and the date 1812. Winter dial underneath is smaller. In summer shows 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours. In winter 6am to 6pm in half and quarters. Noon marked by an ornamental cipher. The summer dial is 500mm in diameter and the winter one 300mm. The octagonal pillar measures 250mm across.
