BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cornwall

It is unusal to find a dial constructed entirely of slate, but since this is near a slate quarry, we should not be too surprised. It is sited on a granite column near the church porch. Not surprisingly the slate gnomon of this horizontal dial has been broken, perhaps more than once, since it was restored by Michael Williams. Its original date is 1876 and the circular dial is beautifully engraved on a square slab. It shows V to VII (in both Roman and Arabic numerals) divided into halves and quarters.
