BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Manachus’ Church, Lanreath

This dial is mounted oddly on the porch, being to the right of centre and canted considerably westwards to attain a true south aspect. G Searle, the maker, has engraved his name and the date at the bottom of the plate followed by the name of the village as it was spelt in 1828. He miscalculated the amount of room needed for all of this and had to resort to adding the last two letters in superscript, a feature which it is not easy to see today. In his book on Cornish Church Sundials, Burge has an appendix entirely devoted to the geometry of the sun which occupies the arch of this dial. The dial has Arabic numerals but noon is marked by a cross.
