BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The ornate border of ths dial is unusual. Its setting on the wall is uncomfortable and it does not face due south: it may have been moved here from elsewhere on the church. Mrs Crowley wonders whether it is by the same maker as the one at Quethiock. This one was designed by Samuel Brau(n)d, a schoolmaster from Menheniot. Both dials use the same motto, the vicar’s name comes before those of the churchwardens and they use the "anticlockwise convention" (Cf. Lansallos) in setting out the numerals. The dial is mounted on the buttress to the right of the porch and there are numerous consecration crosses on the wall nearby.
