BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Blaize’s Church, St Blazey

This dial is all straight lines with no attempt at decoration though it does have the almost obligatory dismal motto at the top (’Every hour shortens life’). Hours are divided right down to 5 minute intervals and there is an Equation of Time table with four entries for each month. It has a noon gap as a dial of this quality should. Installed in 1839 it may be a replacement for an earlier dial.
