BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Kellaways, East Tytherton

This is a square stone memorial pillar with a three-face cube dial surmounted by a stone ball. There are several mottoes around the top and bottom of the cube. That on top of the west face is almost illegible but is reported by Gatty as "Redibo, tv nvnqvam" and that at the bottom reads: "Haste Traveller the sun is sinking now, He shall return again but never thou". On the east face are: "Volat Tempus" and: "Oh Early passenger look up be wise and think how night and day-time onward flies". The south face reads: "Dum Tempus Habemus Operemur bonum" (While we have time let us do good), and under is: "He steals away this hour. Oh man, is sent thee. Patient to work the work of Him who sent thee". The monument was recently repaired after being struck by a car in 1996 (despite an injunction in the memorial inscription to ’Injure me not’!).
