BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Cross Hospital, Winchester

The dial is painted on the stone wall of the Beaufort tower stair turret, in a dark greyish blue. It has a thin iron sheet gnomon and shows 6am to 5pm in half hours. Full length half hour lines extend from circle at gnomon root. 6am line drawn above horizon. XII for Noon and IIII for 4pm. No sub-style split. Some pitting around the XII and II. Wall dates from 1445. Crack in fabric runs down the dial.
