BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is mounted on a squat square stone block pillar to the left of the porch. Roman numerals on all faces. The South face declines slightly East, and shows 6am to 5pm in half hours; the West face has 6 hour lines and no numbers; The East face has several hour lines and no Numbers. Metal rod gnomons, southern one bent down at tip and with a small metal gusset at the origin. The North face is blank. A plaque on the back of the plinth records ’This ancient sun-dial was removed from gable of the South transept at its restoration -1891 and erected here in 1894. George E. Richards Charles H. Gush, churchwardens.’ A restoration of the stonework was carried out in 1984 replaced the stone bearing the date 1752; the date was not re-cut into the new stone. Old postcards clearly show the two dates. Wills Cigarette Card No 17 shows it in 1928, and gives a restoration date of 1752.
