BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Market Square, Carlisle

Carel Cross. Four face dial on top of tall column. Dial block mounted on capital and topped by lion and four pointed finials, whole standing on a substantial plinth itself on a four tiered circular base. Erected on site of an earlier cross. Recently repainted.
