BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Hemyock

Canted a few degrees East on the porch in an unshaded position is this simple stone dial which has the date 1847 in the triangular area at the top. It is difficult to read now as is the lettering inside the semicircle surrounding the gnomon root. It might give the maker’s name since there is a suggestion of the word ’fecit’ on the right hand side. Careful cleaning might make it decipherable. The hours VI to VI are shown and divided into halves and quarters. It measures 530mmh x 380mmw.
