BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dartington Hall, Dartington

On the church tower in the grounds is a vertical dial which declines east and shows the hours from 6am to 5pm. It is in poor condition so that the numerals are barely legible and there is a diagonal crack across the stone dial plate. In the arched top is the motto ’Tempus Fugit’. The dial dates from 1801.
