BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

All Saints’ Church, Winkleigh

On the chancel and enclosed by a stone surround is a slate dial which declines 18° east. Across the top and partly obscured by the stone frame is the motto "Life’s Bvt A SHADOW, MANS’ (sic) Bvt DVft / THIS DyAll SAyES, Dy All WEE Mvft". The dial shows V - IV in half hours, using XII and IIII. A semicircle around the gnomon root crosses full hour lines. Its precise age is unknown but it is in fine condition.
