BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Cathedral, Durham

The dial is in ’The College’ behind the cathedral, mounted on a S facing butress of ’The Great Kitchen’. Maroon lines and numerals on duck-egg blue ground. Repainted in 2006. Hour lines have an 8-pointed golden star at the outer end, and terminate on a raised semi-circular golden flaming sun around the gnomon root. Painted on render over stone.
