BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Gregory’s Minster in Kirkdale, Kirkbymoorside

The dial is located in the church porch. Inscriptions read: "Orm Gamal’s son bought St Gregory’s Minster when it was all broken down and fallen and he let it be made anew from the ground to Christ and St Gregory, in Edward’s days, the King and in Tosh’s days, the Earl". "And Howarth me wrought and Brand priests". Within dial: " This is the day’s Sun marker at every tide". Copy in Science Museum. Date may be 1055. Ref Mrs Gatty. Ref BSS Monograph No 8.
