BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Osyth’s Priory, St Osyth

The dial is in the garden. It is very rusted and several joints of rings are breaking. It is also not properly aligned N-S (perhaps in an attempt to get it to read BST?) Some (black) Roman numerals still visible on the equatorial ring. Tropic and arctic rings. Rod gnomon which protrudes from the ring at the North. The Priory is now (2004) in private ownership and is not normally open to the public. The postcard is pre-1918.
