BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
This breakarch shaped wooden dial is above the entrance to the south porch. It is painted with black lines and border on a white ground and with gold numerals, and shows the time from 6am to 5pm in hours and half hours. There is a scroll design in the centre of the arch and a half sun (in gold) at the gnomon root. The metal strip gnomon has a single back-raked supporter. The motto around the arch reads: "Time passeth away like a shadow". This sundial also features in a painting by John Constable.
