BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Heslington Hall, York

A vertical, declining, painted metal dial in the gable on the courtyard wall. The motto reads: "Carpe Diem". Circular dial in square stone frame in filled with scroll décor. Shows 5am to 4pm in half & quarter hours. Uses XII & IIII.1855 Blue dial plate with gold lettering & lines. Heslington Hall is an Elizabethan Mansion restored 1855 and now part of York University. There is a atching clock on the opposite wing of the building
